We all know every great business has a meaningful story behind it. Why did you start A-Peeling Beauty?
“So my business started by me wanting to correct my own skin care and failing to get the proper advice or guidance from doctors or whoever else. I have really bad eczema. When I first moved here, and I was on steroid creams, I was on all this stuff. It was really hard to find products that actually worked for my skin.
So I kind of just took matters into my own hands, made myself some scrubs, some soaps, and all of that stuff to clear my skin, cleared it in, like, two weeks, and then realized, maybe I know something, and went to aesthetic school and then kind of started the business about two years after I was licensed and going from there.”

Along your journey, you've worked with many different skincare brands. Why Aurganics?
“Honestly, that ingredient list. I met Sarah when I was working across from her at a market. I was just curious. You know, I liked her branding and marketing. Everything was cohesive. Everything looked very professional and put together.
When I kind of just picked up that bottle and turned it around to read the ingredient list, I was like, these are amazing. So I, you know, wanted to try it from there and then bought one bottle for myself. Loved it.”

What's your Alpha Glow story?
“I have PCOS, so I get dark, inflamed pigmentation marks, especially on my chin, and they get stubborn and take a while to go away.
And this serum has really helped kind of correct that. I don't have those marks anymore. When I do get a breakout now, it goes away much quicker.
I feel like my skin is overall glowing and I have a good clientele that can benefit from this. I think everyone can benefit from the serum. Truthfully.”

What's your favorite way to use Alpha Glow?
“I use it twice a day. I do in the morning and at night. It's the first serum I put on after washing. Just apply it, let it dry, and move on to my next ones. Sometimes I'll mix it with another serum. I don't always do that. It just depends on how I'm feeling that day.
It's part of all my facials, all my aftercare, and all my chemical peel clients we're working with. I work with many people who are struggling with pigmentation. Chemical peels are my specialty here. So that's kind of become a staple in my aftercare, and it's my top-selling client, my top-selling product of the year. So it's great.”

Now, we want to get to know more about you!
What's your go-to cafe order?
“Iced vanilla latte with oat milk. So basic, but so good.
Sometimes I like an iced matcha. You know, I'm an iced person so I like it like that.”

When you're not at the spa or working, what do you like to do in your free time?
“I like hiking and going to concerts. I like to stay in my house, clean and chill. You know, I do focus a lot on my business. So even in my free time, I am researching ingredients, reading books about it, doing that kind of stuff. So it is like my passion, my go-to. But when I'm not doing that. You know, hanging out with friends, trying different things. I love nature, so anything that lets me get out of the house and breathe the fresh air is nice.”
We know skincare can be quite controversial.
As a professional, what is your skincare hot take?
“Less is more. Honestly, you don't need an extensive routine. We. I really like to simplify the routines people follow. You need a cleanser and an exfoliator once or twice a week. No more than that. A good hydrating, balancing serum, some spf, and a moisturizer if you need it.
I don't always use a moisturizer; sometimes I get my nourishment from my serums. So I don't always need that extra layer. And just, you know, I like to balance people's skin before I go in with anything aggressive. So, like with all my Peel series clients, we're going to work on repairing your barrier and making sure it's intact before we go in with the acids and more intensive products, so your skin can handle them without a freak-out response.”

And this is one of our favorite questions:
What's been on your playlist lately?
“Doechii. I love me some Doechii. I. I don't know, she's just like a positive female influence. I really enjoy it. I like a variety of music, so I feel like I listen to a lot of older stuff. So when I do find newer things that I'm into, I'm always like excited about it. My Spotify listening age was 79. Okay. Just to set the tone for that. So yes, I like right now. Doechii’s a big, A big one.”
Looking back, what advice would you give to your younger glow-getter self?
“Stop exfoliating. When I was first getting into my, like, skincare journey and making stuff for myself, I had made these scrubs. They were great for my body, but I was exfoliating my face with them every day like a psychopath. And then I went to school and was like, oh, my God, I'm destroying my skin. So stop exfoliating. Wash your face a little bit more and research ingredients. Because I could have saved myself a lot of trouble had I looked up the items that were in my products and just kind of taken it back a step, you know?”
As an esthetician, your job requires you to take care of so many people. What does a good self-care day look like for you?
“A good self-care day would be waking up early. I like to get up early so that I can get a head start on things. Doing a little bit of meditation, a little journaling, stretching, really just allowing time for myself to be in my present moment, and eating a nice, healthy breakfast.
Because I often skip doing a little workout, going for a walk, or listening to some music, and maybe doing a face mask or high frequency at the end of the night. You know, I feel like I have one day a week that I try to set aside for all my self-care. So I'll have a night of my face mask, my high frequency, I'll paint my nails, I'll do my eye serums, and add in a couple of my extra products and stuff like that.”

And for our last question: when you are feeling overwhelmed, what keeps you motivated?
“What keeps me motivated is just kind of, you know, focusing on my dream, focusing on my passion, knowing that like I'm doing all of this, like I'm making it happen for myself, that really kind of keeps me going. You know, it's really hard to run a business completely by yourself, provide financial support by yourself, and do all of these things.
So it's like sometimes you just need to take a step back and realize what you've accomplished and kind of go through like what you're grateful for, what you already have, what's coming in, and kind of focus on that instead of thinking of the lack, you know?”
