We all know every great business has a meaningful story behind it. Why did you start Lineage Studio?
"Lineage Studio began with my own skin journey. As a flight attendant, constant altitude changes caused me acne, dryness, and rashes. Wanting to look and feel my best, I started researching skincare ingredients and solutions.

That curiosity became a passion. About 11 years ago, with little accessible skincare information from Black estheticians, I taught myself using online articles, scientific journals, and hands-on experimentation. Eventually, I left a job I wasn’t passionate about and enrolled in an aesthetic school in New York, where I practiced giving facials and found my love for the treatment room. Lineage Studio stems from my intent to care for skin thoughtfully, intentionally, and with respect for wellness and heritage."
Along your journey, you've worked with many different skincare brands. Why Aurganics?
"So I enjoy working with brands that are founded by people who have a good story and are passionate about the product that they're putting out into the world. And I saw that with Aurganics.

Above everything, I like ingredient quality and effectiveness. So once I tried the product, I tried it on clients with varying skin concerns and on myself, and I saw the results. So from there I'm sold."

What's your Alpha Glow story?

"Alpha Glow has become one of my go-to finishing products in the treatment room. I use it most often with clients who are dealing with hydration issues, transepidermal water loss, and hyperpigmentation. It helps lock in moisture, supports the skin barrier, and visibly brightens uneven skin tone. What I love most is how versatile it is; it’s a true multitasker that addresses several common skin concerns at once.

I especially enjoy introducing Alpha Glow to first-time clients who may not be familiar with advanced ingredients or formulations. It’s an easy, effective way for them to see real results without feeling overwhelmed, making it a great entry point into a more intentional skincare routine. Ultimately, Alpha Glow empowers clients to feel confident and invested in their skin care."

What's your favorite way to use Alpha Glow?

"In the treatment room, it's basically my go-to to finish off my services. Any clients experiencing hydration issues, trans-epidermal water loss, or hyperpigmentation concerns. And I especially love to introduce it to my first-time clients because, usually, these are clients who don't have a lot of experience with, like, advanced ingredients or formulations. And it's kind of a multi-tool to treat common skincare concerns."

Now, we want to get to know more about you! What's your go-to cafe order?
"I'm a tea person. I love a good tea. I recently got back from my trip to Japan, and I tried every kind of, like, matcha to see how I felt about it. And I was like, okay, I like it. It's very healthy. So, it's either a nice green tea or a matcha drink."
When you're not at the spa or working, what do you like to do in your free time?
"I am fully committed to wellness. When I'm not in the treatment room, I'm at home focusing on my own well-being. I spend time doing sauna sessions and using LED treatments; taking care of myself is genuinely my pastime. In addition, I've been working on a book for the past couple of years and do a lot of creative writing."

My book is a compilation of short stories exploring the theme of sisterhood and the idea that you don't have to be related to someone for them to play the role of a sister in your life."
We know skincare can be quite controversial. As a professional, what is your skincare hot take?
"My skincare hot take is that a lot of it is a scam. Many brands sell the same formulas in different packaging, and many so-called “new” or “innovative” products aren’t actually new at all. Some ingredients are inexpensive to source and formulate, yet they’re marked up dramatically. Even many heritage brands people swear by aren’t revolutionary in terms of ingredients or formulation; they’re just expensive."
And this is one of our favorite questions: What's been on your playlist lately?
"The albums I have been listening to Brazilian funk music. It's P H O N K . So I have like a playlist for that J.I.D. A rapper named Armani White. Those are like my recently added albums."
Looking back, what advice would you give to your younger glow-getter self?
"My younger self, I would say, just don't be afraid to invest in yourself. I've been an esthetician for 10 years now, and even though I've invested in myself and taken a financial loss, I've gained something. Whether it's an opportunity or the people I've met.

Yeah, every relationship has been profitable on an emotional level or a financial level in some way. So yeah, just invest in yourself."
As an esthetician, your job requires you to take care of so many people. What does a good self-care day look like for you?
"A good self-care day starts with my phone on do not disturb; it's always silent, and I don't use any social media notifications. I like to be in my own world. This room is technically my office, but it's also where I do self-care. My vanity is back there. Sometimes, I'll come in here, put on some somatic yoga on TV, do some yoga, then hang out in here to do some LED therapy. I love baths, too.

Afterward, I set up a nice, extravagant bath with a candle or some incense, some good music, and just relax."
And for our last question: when you are feeling overwhelmed, what keeps you motivated?
"I recently got married, and now everything is kind of like, how do I integrate my life with this other person who's had his own hopes and dreams and things going on, too?And lately, that has been kind of the motivation.

Like, how are we integrating in our lives in a way where as we age, we still feel good physically, have mobility, and we're able to enjoy our time together? So that's what motivates me. I'm like, all right, go through this long work day, and on the other side of it. We're still gonna look good."
